Table 18 consisted of the services from Birmingham eastwards to
Leicester, Peterbourgh and into East Anglia. A mixture of LMR and ER
dmu's with a few 5-6 coach hauled rakes of stock forming the longer distance
workings, with March based class 31s the booked motive power. Below
is a small selection of scans showing these workings.

the 09:03 ex Cambridge on the 3rd of August 1983. This loco and

The class 31 locomotives that produced on these services were not
confined just to those from Eastern Region depots. 31231 was a
Bristol Bath Rd based, boiler fitted example, that spent several days
in late July/early August 1983 on the route. Captured here arriving
at Nuneaton with the 1E80 16:14 New St - Norwich on 1st August 1983.
