You can almost smell the clag as 47510 Fair Rosamund departs Southampton way back on 21st August 1983.
The service was believed to be a Glasgow - Poole service.  During the following year, 47510 would become one of the second batch of four 47/7 conversions becoming 47713.

Here, 56066 as arrived at Birmingham New Street with an unidentified cross-country service which had failed at Leamington Spa.  The date was Saturday 14th of August 1982.  In the background, 31207 can be seen.  On this date, this locomotive is reported to have worked the 1M67 10:50 from Yarmouth.

This view was taken at Sheffield on the 15th of August 1981.  The only other details recorded at the time with this photo were the locomotive numbers, 31234 and 40049.  We now think that the Class 40 had arrived here with the 1E34 09:15 SO Manchester P - Yarmouth and that the 31 worked the train forward, though any conformation would be welcome.
