"Spent
2 hours south of York last Saturday, 2 Class 66, 1 HST, assorted 91s
(incl 2 on the 0800 x KX which had failed at Retford),
a few Voyagers, 156/158s. Couldn't stand the excitement...
I thought I'd have a look back... By sheer coincidence I spent 2 hours
by the line twenty five years ago too (well my maths says it's
twenty five years, my memory doesn't seem to think it's anything like
that). It must have been warm and sunny on 14 Feb 1981 I think
as even the prospect of assorted specials wouldn't have got me
there if it had been icy cold. Anyway, here's 14 Feb 81!"
