Dragging to Nuneaton but nothing I needed so I joined a couple of friends on a move to Wolverhampton (they were off to Scotland) and I
was rewarded with a 'pair'. The Poole train had failed and was rescued with an 83. My records at this time don't record what the
actual trains were but do say I missed my last 86/2 for haulage by taking the Solihull move! "

Captain Grey remembers...
"I was on an East Midlands Rover... a pretty standard bash for us spotters (soon to be cranks)
who lived in the Nottingham area at that time. Unit was done Radcliffe-on-Trent to Notts, peaks
on the 'Dire Straight' (Midland Main Line), Trans pennine unit to Donny for Deltic to Granny
for another unit to Radcliffe. Scored both eh wagons... what a ned!
