All 'gen' received is entered into 'The System', which is simply a series of databases, before
it can be added to the website.
Some degree of editing is always
required so that the
data can be imported to a database rather than having
to be completely
re-typed (which happens frequently) , so the closer your
'gen' is to the format we use, the easier it is for us to produce the
best possible site update in whatever time we have available.
If possible - please take the trouble to use the following format:
Date, loco number, headcode, departure time, service origin point, service dest, notes.
For example:
05/11/84 45101 2K?? 1525 Derby Crewe vice Sprinter
(EXAMPLE)
'Gen' formatted as shown above is easy for us to use and import into our databases.
This helps us to help you by speeding up the time it
takes to get your 'gen' into 'The System' and then onto the site and therefore
allows us to spend lest time editing data and more
time updating the pages, enabling us to produce the best possible update
in the
often limited time we have available.
While entering 'Gen' into an email will no doubt be
the most popular way to go, if you have 'Office', why not enter your
gen into
an 'Excell' spreadsheet? Click HERE
to download a blank a suitably formatted blank sheet, or HERE
to download a suitably formated
Access Database..
If you already have your 'Moves' in a Spreadsheet or
Database why not email a copy to us?
Not only will you be contributing to the site, should
you ever loose your file, we can sent a copy straight back to you!
THANKS FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT!
