On this site there is an ever growing collection
of pages recording details of the 'real' Locomotives that worked
the once widespread
loco hauled passenger trains all over the BR network. Check out the Diary Pages - detailed pages full of loco hauled passenger workings.
With your help we
hope to continue to cram this site full with 1980's, and
now, 1970's locomotive hauled action. Emphasis is on the NB,
Steam
heat
(whether Booked or vice other power) workings together
with the unusual, but we now also include all other gen received
without
any bias any particular class and without regard to our own personal likes and dislikes.
Some of the many Summer dated trains, relief's,
dmu substitutions, together with a selection of the other
services that were of interest or in some case typical of the period have also been added to this site.
These can be found by taking a look at the Year by Year menus...
1979 , 1980
, 1981 , 1982 , 1983
, 1984 , 1985 , 1986
, 1987 , 1988 , 1989
A collection of pages entitled "Where were you?"
feature Basher's moves and anecdotes from specific dates and we will be happy to
include shed bashing trips too.
Please feel free to submit move's etc. for other
dates, or
take a look at the 'Hellfire Days!' page for more Bashing memories.
The result, we hope, is an historic record of a mode operation
now almost extinct on today's 'bog cart' railway..
Wherever possibly we like to use 'gen' taken from personal observations
- someone saw, photographed, caught or otherwise recorded a service and
logged the details at the time, then passed them on to us, but we have
and will continue to included Third Party 'gen' reports...
If you like this site and want to see it
continue, please try to find time to check your records against these
pages and to
submit
a little additional information of your own from time to time if you can...
please indicate if your gen is from your own observations of from a third party or a mix of both.
All info received is taken into account, traceable (we know who told us what) and fully credited though tout the site -
The
closer your info comes to our 'Preferred Format' the quicker it's
likely to appear on these pages, gen in other formats will still be used
it will just take a bit longer to appear that's all so please be patient.
If you see anything on these pages you think its wrong, don't sit there muttering contact us with details.
Also if you have
photo scans of
interesting workings that we could use, especially
if the service is listed on these pages then
please contact
"Clayhead",
our Picture Editor.
