The Crompton's

A group of pages dedicated to the Class 33s, or `Cromptons`.  These Southern region allocated machines ranged far and wide during the 1980's.  Below are details of some typical day to day passenger duties worked by the 33/0 sub-class during this era, currently featuring
most of their regular routes during this period.  Members of the 33/1 sub-class mostly worked in push-pull mode with trains formed of
4TC stock, principally the Bournemouth - Weymouth's, locals and through Waterloo trains (until May 88) and on the Sundays Reading - Portsmouth via Eastleigh turns (until May 88) while their use on the Waterloo - Salisbury turns continued for a little longer.  More gen for these pages always welcome.

Due to time constraints, these pages have not received the regular updates that they deserve.  As a result many Crompton workings have been added to the Diary pages .  To make this site easier to maintain, and allow for more frequent updates, Crompton workings will be re-arranged, as time allows, into date order with links to new pages added here until this process is completed.
