Note that this page was originally compiled from observations of these services in the Teignmouth & Dawlish area, but these services were subject to additional engine changes en-route on most weeks as will be seen below.  It should also be noted that 1V45/1M65 was usually a WCML MkIII set, where as 1V46/1M63 was usually a cross country MkII set, so they should be distinguishable from any coaching stock records or photographs. The locos were also booked to work 1V45/1M65 and 1V46/1M63.  Further  Additional reports to confirm / clarify are most welcome.

To Bristol TM, ? fwd.  2. 47482 arr 9 mins before the 31s but reappeared on 1M65 3. 1V46 arr first, 1431 @ Teignmouth, 1V45 18 min later. 4.  1M65 Terminated Birmingham NS.  31416+31460 noted @ BS following morning (0805). 5.  Possible case of 1V45 over taking 1V46?  6.  47456 was DIT and 1V46 was app 125 late.  47456 understood to have failed at or near Teignmouth? 7.  31451+31460 noted working up, light through Newton Abbot @ 1603 following 1M65, 31451 was dead, propelled by 31460.  8.  31466 was dead on 1V45 (from ?) which arr at Newton Abbot 8 mins after 1V46.  9.  47145 was Newton Abbot standby.  47146 worked to Bristol TM, 47509 fwd.  10.  1V46 was about 50 late, 1V45 about 110 late.  47616 then worked 1M10 from Paignton, so 1M63 probably worked by 47827? 11.  To Exeter SD, 47290 fwd.  Was about 30 late @ the sea wall with 1V45, then worked 1M65 to Exeter,   12.  31402 failed at Cheltenham, the 31s were replaced at Gloucester by 47142 which in turn  was replaced at Bristol TM by 47628.  1V45 then terminated short at Exeter SD 1M65 started there.  13. To Bristol TM, 47534 fwd. 14. 31415 presumed failed and removed at Taunton.  Only 31459 reached Devon.  31459 then worked light, probably to Exeter, through Newton Abbot @ 1639.  15.  31437 dead from Newton Abbot.  16.  To Bristol TM, 31407+31412 fwd.  17.  To Bristol TM, 47823 fwd.  18.  To Weston, 47616 fwd.  19.  To Bristol TM, then 31462 solo fwd.  20.  31's about 80 late on 1V45 along the sea wall..  21.  31451 was dead from Taunton. 22.  47096 into Birmingham NS.  23.  To Taunton, 31411 fwd solo.  24.  47339 into Birmingham NS.  25.  85003 fwd from Birmingham NS.  26.  Service started Exeter St David's.  27.  To Bristol TM, 47565 fwd.  28.  To Bristol TM, 31417+31455 fwd, 85037 from New St.  29.  81017 fwd from New St.  30.  To Bromsgrove, 37068+37239 fwd to New St.  31.  85034 fwd from New St.  32.  Or 47616?  Or did 47616 work 1M10?.  85015 from New St.  33.  To Exeter, then 31410+31446 fwd (off the stabling point).  34.  To Bristol TM, 31290+31419 fwd.
