Crewe - Derby Loco-hauled 1984

Day to day services over the Crewe - Derby route were all booked for DMU's during 1984. The sets used were usually BR Swindon Cross-County
Class 120 sets allocated to Derby Etches Park depot and there were some 30 sets based there at that time, although some of the original centre cars
had been replaced by Metro Cammell built cars and the replacement of these DMU's by Class 150/1 Sprinter units was still two years away. From
time to time, when units failed, loco's would come to their aid, while at times of shortage, Derby might throw out a loco and a short rake of stock as
cover.

This was the turn most often hauled over this route at this time, especially on Fridays for some reason.
2. 2M46 12:29 Linclon - Crewe, (presumably starting Derby?), then 2P40 16:20 Crewe-Derby.
3. 2K49 13:20 Derby-Crewe, then 2E51 15:23 Crewe - Lincoln, (replaced at Derby by DMU?).
